My Printer Will Not Print In DOS

November 12th, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments
  • If your printer is a GDI printer, it cannot print in DOS because it does not have the built-in hardware necessary to understand DOS ASCII codes. This is not a defect with your printer and there is no firmware available that would allow your printer to print in DOS. To print in DOS, you need a PCL printer.
  • If your printer prints for Windows programs but does not print for DOS programs, you have a GDI printer. It cannot print for DOS programs.
  • Click here to check your printer’s model specifications for PCL compatibility.
